niki's paw: June 2011

I bought this voucher months ago when JiaJia is still around with us.

I thought I would have the chance to bring them both down for grooming. But ended up Jiajia was taken by a kind soul.

JiaJia, a valentine poodle.

She was with us for more than 3weeks, and frankly speaking... I couldn't handle. Niki was still new and we have much problems at home, so the idea of taking her as our own didn't came true. However, during the 3 weeks of fostering, she was a good girl and didn't needed much teachings actually.

Poodles, as far as I knew, were fast learners.

But anyway, I finally made the trip down with Niki.

Just look at his fat body!! IT"S FUR!! NOT FATS!!

I didn't manage to take many photos of his "before' look, but you definitely can see the difference!

And ... after:

(the flash on my camera isnt' good) So, the first sight after his grooming, made me so guilty. He was way slimmer than I thought! And seriously, I'm starting to worry cuz I really don't know what's the cause of him not eating enough. He is not like that when he come!! Is it really due to all the food we fed him over the months made him crave for more, better food?? Now he even rejects minced meat! I'm so worried.

Sighs. But the only thing I can do is to continue monitoring.

Anyway, the groomer praised Niki for being a good boy at grooming. The groomer was saying that he whined a little when he was left alone in the room, and stopped when he sees someone. Aw.. he's just scared. =(( And the groomer mentioned too, that Niki reacts to their talkings!! Like, he will tilt his head left to right when they were chatting among themselves, as if Niki understood!!

Yeaps! Gotten him a puppy cut. Is he looking younger now? And less heavy??

This is the third time i'm shaving him dowo cuz he look so heavy and its easier to manage this way. Of course I've gotta do frequent trimmings when time comes and hopefully I can cut down on his grooming cost. =)

Ok he's really slim lor !! Look at his body now!!

It's so long and slim!! Mum says he look like a bolster. LOL

We reach home around 9pm. All of us were tired especially Niki.

I left two types of Kibbles for him, ProNature from Sze Peh (Turkey and Cranberries), and Addiction Salmon Bleu. After a few rounds of sniffing, he decided to catch down on ProNature. I dont know whyyy~ The smell is not strong, unlike Royal Canin. However, the Sample given by Sze Peh is only 25g. I know it wasn't enough to fill him little tummy.

So I poured another 75g of Royal Canin, and the Addition is still there. He sniffed, and quickly turn away.

OK, Royal Canin is OUT!

Then while I was unpacking my stuff, Niki came in with me and grabbed his toys.

He held that squeaky toy given by sze peh in and out the room~ Even until when Debbie was playing and giving him his usual 'massage', he was still holding onto that! How cute. But I didn't manage to take a cute pic of him. =(

I left his head and tail out of shavings cuz it's easier to manage!

He was around 8months old during his 2nd shaving. LOL... His body isnt' take long back then...

So.... This is the Niki now:

I tried the new clothes Sze Peh bought from the Flea at Expo last week. Glad that she's willing to get them for Niki. =DD It's cheap!! Why not? ^^ It fits quite perfectly except that Niki's fur is too thin now, and those tops are a little on the losse side. BUT, it's growing fast, no worries. =)

Will take more pictures once Niki fits them in perfectly! ^^

And after his dinner and stuff, he walked into my room silently and laid on his usual spot.

I went in, and he woke up~ lol. Grooming is tiring for him. He'll usually sleep after that.

But! I played with him. LOL.

(he keeps scratching.....)

Treats Time! <3 I've cut down on his treats lately.

Now ucually i'll give him his treats when he woke up, waiting for me when I'm in the bath, before I go out to work, and after I come home... and before sleep. =)

Yeap, look at his tired eyes now. =)

He fell asleep so fast. ^^

I am determined to learn some basics of grooming and DIY.

Hi guys, I'm back to updating Niki's N-Weekly!

Niki hasnt been feeling really well of late, loss of appetite, lerthagic and really lazy. He is having bloated tummy and farted quite a fair bit. Had diarrhea for some few days, and threw up once, some yellowish liquid. Probably he haven't been eating well. He is too picky on food and I decided to stop giving him anything else except Kibbles. Gotta be really persistent on this though.

Sunday was his bathing day last week, and I tried putting his old CNY clothes and it surprisingly fits well!

And since now he is pee trained and not barkish to strangers, I think I will bring him out more often, so that I can get him ready to meet more people during CNY! hehehe .... No new clothes for him next CNY liaoo~

So, he was really tired especially right after his bath and some basic grooming. He is a good boy, laid down to allow me blowdry him after shower. =) I get to trim his nails and pluck the hair inside his ears too. =) Good boy!!

Back then, everyone was saying I bought the wrong size. LOL NOW they know that I was waiting for Niki to grow up. heh.

OKAY - another new toy dardar bought from BKK for Niki. Niki only roll it on the floor and catch it. I don't think he likes this. =X

So... his favourite toy at the moment is PIGGY!!

He was playing with Piggy that day and felt tired and fall asleep. He was almost hugging piggy to sleep!!

haha..... I positioned it closer to him only. And when he turn to another side, he brought Piggy along too !! LOL ... looks cute. <3

Monday;

Tuesday; And he wanted to play with the things inside and dig in..

But when I said NO, he whine. =.="

So... I started playing with him... And tricking him with treats..

Then he dozes off. He slept for awhile and woke up to play again.

Sometimes I really wonder how much sleep a dog needs. It seems like he've been sleeping the whole day when I wasnt around and yet he can still doze off like that. Yes, he woke up to play awhile later.

Everynight before mum sleeps, she will carry Niki and say good night.

Wednesday;

Bought some new treats for Niki

Thursday; He threw up in the noon time.

He licked on my leg as if telling me something. I patted on his head and he looked at me.

Hais poor thing. I went out later to meet dar for dinner. Niki can't go (to shopping malls) so he stayed at home since he is not feeling well either.

I came back with a plastic bag. Recently, when I make alot of noise with the plastic bag, he will peep at me on what its inside. So likewise, he was sitting at the door way and i'm making alof of noise with the plastic bag that contains something for him.

I called out to him..... "Huh..... I see something!"

Look at his facial expression!! He is like having locks on his forehead!! (Or am I imagining things??)

And I called out to his name, telling him that its for him, HE JUMPED IN JOY!! "I WANT!!"

I have to calm him down, ask him to sit before giving that to him. And he did. =)

- waiting patiently, wagging fluffy tail - YES HIS TAIL!! He was waggin his tail in a very quickly manner!!

Just Because Of ........

HIS NEW BOLSTER!! And because its RED in color, he's rather sensetive to it.

He jumped up on bed happily and started biting it. And grabbed it to the living room and toss around!

Then .....

Zzz ..... Okay, i brought the bolster near to him and he rested his head on it. And in the morning when he knows that i'm going off to work, he gave the very sad look.

Sighs .. sometimes just can't bear to leave him at home. But too bad, my company doesn't allow pets at work.

Friday: I came back home late cuz of our department dinner. And my family was saying that Niki refuses to come into the house and refused play. He waited for me at the door.

Seriously, sometimes I feel so guilty when I gotta work late. And usually I'll bring Niki over to dardar's place during the weekdays, and we'll cycle back. <3

He was so tired that he didn't munch on the treat I gave him. Poor boy.

Saturday;

I brought Niki over to dar's place near noon time. Initially we're meeting Sze Peh for a trip down to Orchard then Expo however, Niki wasn't feeling well. He didn't eat and look so lerthagic. He even refused his treats and food. Dar and I concluded that maybe we should bring him to the vet in case there're worms in his tummy. =((

I can't imagine how he reject food when he can throw up his gastric juices. That shows that he really have no appetite. Sighs.... I'm intending to monitor him for a few more days to see if he's just waiting for better food, or really not eating.

So, he was sleeping for almost the whole day with us. The only difference is, he didn't eat.

So he sleeps around, play around...

And slept everywhere.... He finally ate some kibbles that very night... 25g.

Sunday; He was restless.

I brought him out to the Pets Carnival held by Paws N Friends~ Yes we cabbed down..

And it started raining even before we reach. =(

We headed down to Bishan Park's Mac to meet Tennya first. And it started pouring. But Niki started getting active cuz....... CANDY IS HERE! (and she's on heat.) Ya, for the wrong reasons. haha.

Pebbles weren't feeling well, he went back early.

We finally manage to walk out of Macs when the rain stopped, and we quickly walk-run over to the event venue. We reach the exact location around 2.30pm, and the funny thing is, many people reconises Niki at first sight! And frankly speaking, I don't remember all the new friends name. It took me awhile to recall and link up pets and faces. *erhem* APOLOGISE for that. =)

Weather was warm even after rain. And, it was really crowded.

Unexpectedly, I didn't have the chance to take loads of pictures cuz Niki was excited (i think) and keep sniffing around. Alrights. I was so careful that he doesn't hump anyone there cuz Niki isn't sterilized, and I'm aware that some pooches are on heat. Niki was desparate. =.=

But anyway.... I think he had fun cuz he didn't show any signs of bring afraid or upset.

We went back around 4.30pm~ Niki was so tired by then.
